TREE 53I chose a relatively small tree similar to two trees I climbed in April that were very close to today’s. I have had a pretty bad headache for most of the day. I thought a nice walk in the woods and an easy climb would help. The branches were low and close and the climb was short. However, the exertion exacerbated my headache and made it pound. But this only occurred when I stopped and paused. While I was concentrating on the climb I remember feeling no pain. Unfortunately, I believe the climb worsened my headache. I tried for the next hour to find 4-leaf clovers. I succeeded in finding one in the same patch where I have already found four. Thankfully my headache is fading.
5-22-08: Another blog day missed. (I haven’t missed climbing) I am staying at Norman’s for three nights to help lay hard wood floors and tile at Dave’s house. Dave is a cabinet maker that employs Norman. Last night in my attempt to blog I encountered zero connectivity. This was something I could not fix.
I like the photo above. The leaves are pretty. And the blue ribbon peeks through. This, unfortunately was one instance where tree climbing did not cure my ailment. It did, however boost my spirits and make me get outside. One the other hand, it also was my gateway to four-leaf clover searching. An addiction I have since kicked.
On my way to Norman’s on Tuesday I stopped at the water tower of River Road. I found a line of 3 large trees: two sycamores and one unknown (to me). The sycamores are taller and I studied them first, but ultimately decided on the unknown. It was an awesome climb. I’ll let the video and the pictures tell the story. But I’ll add this, right by the tree was a baseball field where a father and his three or four children played. They saw me walk to the base of the tree but never once noticed me in the tree. I love the secrecy of leaves.
